I can honestly say that the HRC Gala was the priciest activism I have ever witnessed. Definitely interesting to see how the other side of the same side does things. Always good to see people coming together to celebrate a common desire for change, even if the methodology is a little different.
Oh and did I mention that I sang a spontaneous duet with a Bono impersonator in front of a couple...

I am a fierce force today; getting so much work done! Apparently dealing with disagreeable people really agrees with my work ethic.

trans class ended without being too horrific. Overall, I had a decent time and enjoyed stepping in whenever the professor couldn’t answer a question, which was at least 75% of the time. Had a couple classmates ask why I wasn’t teaching the class, which amused me. The professor, not so much…
“transgender” class steps to the next level. We have entered the gender identity disorder section AKA a how to be a fucked up, oppressive heath care provider section. The teacher is very disinterested in my dissent, but I don’t give a shit.
nothing says advanced learning like a 1990s VHS tape
trans class adventure continues: not horrific, but very, very silly. Luckily I’m in the back of the room with some cool peeps… and there are cheez-its.

Collaboration dance piece I participated in called Pieces (by MamLuft&Co. Dance), premiering this weekend on February 25, downtown Cincinnati. I’m excited to see it all come to life!
time for some classroom adventures - taking a class about my own community taught by someone who is…. not ideal.
so… my hater professor just emailed me with a direct request that I “not respond” to the class content or participate in conversations. Furthermore, if I have any “disagreement,” like about how “almost all transsexuals are suicidal” or how “all feel trapped in the wrong body” (direct quotes from the powerpoint) then I have to wait until after...
Headed to the opening of my campus LGBT Center, the final result of a fight I started 6 years ago. Been a long road of work, and the work’s not done yet, friends.
just got off the phone with my gay professor who is teaching a “Transgender” class with outdated info and offensive language. I called her to talk about it and offered some friendly suggestions on updates and she told me “I’m the professor, you’re the student. I don’t know where you get off telling me what to do…”
I outed myself and provided...
my brain is exploding with work. exploding. seriously… I need a fully competent clone.
When I do work a 14 hour day, I love when it goes like today did; good talks, meetings, and lots of productivity! Let’s see if I can resist the urge to keep working, or if I’ll be smart and go to sleep!!
having an awesome artist-activist potluck meeting; planning a new community empowerment project with some amazing folks!
Today, I have meetings and work for 14 hours straight, which amuses me because most the meetings and work are about being queer. har har!

Change “decent” to “fabulous” and add 3. “take over the world” and this quote describes me perfectly.

queerinnature asked: Hey JAC! I wanted to thank you for the fascinating perspectives and thought-provoking questions you threw out at MBLGTACC. They've created some awesome conversations here at UW-Milwaukee's LGBT Resource Center and among my circles. Also--you are STUPENDOUSLY stellar and I hope to have continuous contact with you into the future (provided you're cool with that and it works out!)....
